Shopping - Shopping in Batumi
Shopping in Batumi is going through stages of development and adaptation to Europe, but the selection is still not large. The malls offer brand stores (a few percent cheaper than in Israel), but in the non-branded stores you can find "brands" (original or not) at relatively cheap prices compared to Israel. The shopping streets are interesting but mostly look like a bazaar, the markets still look old-fashioned. Visit the markets only if you have time left to "burn".

Zviad Gamsakhurdia Street
(Zviad Gamsakhurdia St)
Zviad Gamsakhurdia Street is one of the main and most important streets in the heart of the old city of Batumi. It is named after the first president of modern Georgia.
The street is characterized by classic European architecture, preserved buildings, and a unique historical atmosphere, and is considered one of the most pleasant areas for a walk in the city.
Boutique shops and galleries: Unlike the large malls, here you will find smaller shops, art galleries and wine shops offering quality Georgian produce.
Matvey Abashidze Street
(Memed Abashidze Ave)
Mammad Abashidze Street is the most beautiful, prestigious and central street in Batumi. It is considered the "beating heart" of the old city and is a perfect combination of impressive European architecture, culture and leisure.
Unlike shopping streets packed with mass brands, Abashidze offers a more elegant experience with restored buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries, colorful facades, and an aristocratic atmosphere.
Shopping: This is an excellent street for boutique shopping. You will find toy stores, electronics stores, and especially fashion and clothing stores located inside historic buildings.
Kutaisi Street
(Kutaisi St)
Kutaisi Street is one of the most colorful and vibrant streets in old Batumi, and is the heart of the so-called "Turkish Quarter" in the city.
The street feels like a "little Istanbul". It is characterized by the smells of Turkish coffee, spices and grilled meat. It is a very bustling area, full of people, tourists and locals, with an authentic Middle Eastern atmosphere that is very different from the European atmosphere of the nearby Mamad Abashidze Street
Zurab Gorgildze Street is one of the main, longest and most important streets in Batumi. It is considered a main lifeline that combines residential, business, cultural and daily shopping.
Unlike the streets of the Old City (such as Abashidze or Gamsakhurdia) which are characterized by a touristy and classic atmosphere, Gorgildze is a "working" and lively street where locals and tourists meet for everyday needs.
This is undoubtedly one of the best streets in Batumi for real shopping.
Bonoi Market
This is an authentic and vibrant market where you can find fresh agricultural produce, Georgian cheeses (such as suluguni), spices, churchkhela, local wines, and fruits and vegetables.
Fish market
Batumi Fish Market
Batumi Fish Market is one of the most fascinating culinary experiences in the city, combining an authentic local market with a fresh fish meal on the seashore.
The market itself is relatively small and is located in a one-story building near the entrance to the city (in the port area). You can find a wide selection of fresh fish and seafood from the Black Sea. The uniqueness of the place is the possibility of choosing fish at the market and eating it immediately in the nearby restaurants.
